SMS for mechanics

SMS for mechanics.
Cars ready. Customers told.

Your car is ready is the message a workshop sends most. Add booking reminders and written approvals and the front desk spends less of the day on hold.

Example messages

Ready

Hi Deb, your Corolla is ready for pickup. We close at 5:30 today.

Approval

Hi Nick, front brake pads are worn and it is $340 fitted while the car is here. Reply YES to approve.

Service due

Hi Kylie, your Ranger is due for its 60,000km service. Reply BOOK and we will sort a time.

Example wording, not a record of a send. Anyone who answers one of these texts is answering the sending phone, so the reply lands there and not in your dashboard.

What the texts are for

Ready for pickup

One text the moment the job is done, instead of three attempts at a number nobody answers.

Written approvals

Found something extra: text the price and the customer's yes is in writing before you start.

Service reminders

Logbook and registration reminders go out from the same place as everything else.

SMS for mechanics: the questions we get

Where does a customer's YES to a quote end up?

On the sending phone, as a normal SMS. Replies do not appear in the AussieSMS dashboard, so the front desk reads them on the handset.

Can the workshop management system send these for us?

Yes, if whoever built it can make an HTTP request. There is a documented send route and your own API key. Most workshops never need it.

Is there a free trial for a workshop that wants to test it?

No. There is no free trial, and no credits are given away. The first pack is $49 for 500 messages and it is prepaid.

No free trial. First pack is $49.
