Privacy notice
This notice explains the information AussieSMS needs to run an account, queue messages, operate a handset gateway, and maintain a prepaid credit ledger.
Information the service handles
- Account identity, profile details, and authentication events.
- Recipient phone numbers, message content, queue status, and operational metadata needed to process a send request.
- API-key records, device identity and heartbeat data, message templates, and service logs.
- Credit balance and transaction records. Card details are entered into Stripe Checkout rather than the AussieSMS app.
Why it is used
AussieSMS uses this information to authenticate accounts, validate and queue messages, show operational history, run the Android gateway, process prepaid purchases, investigate faults, and protect the service from misuse.
Service providers and transport
The current service uses Supabase for application data and authentication, Vercel for the web application, Stripe for payment checkout, and an Android handset and mobile carrier for SMS transport. Information is disclosed only as needed for those functions or where required by law.
Access, correction, and deletion
An owner-confirmed AussieSMS privacy contact is not yet published. Production promotion is blocked until that contact and the responsible contracting identity are verified. Do not send personal information to an address that is not presented on this site. Once a verified channel is published, you may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of account information; some operational and financial records may need to be retained for security, dispute, or legal reasons. The OAIC publishes guidance on the Australian Privacy Principles, including access, correction, and information security.
Public test sends
The unauthenticated marketing-page send feature is disabled. Sending requires an authenticated account or API key so use can be associated with an account and its credit balance.

AussieSMS is operated by Leigh Hepenstall-McMillan, ABN 62 105 083 720, of 37 Ninth Street, Wingfield SA 5013, Australia. It is part of the NearMe network.
For a privacy question, a request to access or correct the information we hold about you, or a complaint about how it has been handled, email support@nearme-ads.com. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
